Apprentice on Strimming Course

Over the duration of the scheme three one-year apprenticeships in Environmental Conservation were offered to those who wanted to gain skills and experience with which to enhance their career prospects in the countryside and environmental sector.

The apprentices studied for a Level 2 Work Based Diploma in Environmental Conservation with Plumpton College as well as receiving additional training to help them further their careers (such as chainsaw, bushcutter and pesticide application).  The apprentices' experiences were enhanced by working with three conservation organisations - White Cliffs Countryside Partnership, National Trust and Kent Wildlife Trust.
