Project: People and Places: Understanding the Landscape of St Margaret's

Grant award: £10740

The landscape of the parishes of St Margaret's and Westcliffe has been greatly altered by human activity. This project has collected interviews and research about the past and present local landscape, especially from those involved with farming and the wartime history of the village, which has left many visible remains, but also from those who use the landscape today.

Volunteers have been trained in oral history collection, historical research and exhibition techniques and have collected and transcribed memories and creatted a public exhibition in the village and a virtual exhibition on their popular website.
